I very rarely make utilitarian pieces and mostly work on a bigger scale, but this year I was injured for a few months and it forced me to make smaller work that was not so delicate to move around. I started experimenting with plates and fell in love with them as a "canvas". These plates do not have a specific theme as such but you can really think of them as little sketches, explorations, glaze experiments and, often, happy accidents. There are several repeated drawings and motifs throughout them that I repeat with different colours and materials. I like them because they can be pieces to display on a wall, but they can also be used in one's daily life.
